HOW TO CHOOSE A MATTRESS?

When starting your search for a mattress, it is worth going to a furniture showroom first and checking which one is right for you. The so-called flat hand test.

Lying on your back, place a flat hand between your back and the mattress. If you can do it easily and you can feel a lot of free space, the mattress is most likely too hard.
If it is impossible to put your hand between the mattress and the back, the tested product is most likely too soft.

A mattress that is too hard supports the body only in a few places, which hinders blood circulation. This position does not ensure proper hydration of the discs.

Too soft a mattress makes the spine bend too much, and the spaces between the discs are compressed on one side and thus improperly nourished. It is also worth emphasizing that its surface should be even and flexible so that it supports every part of the body.

We recommend
• for each mattress with zones of different hardness
• for people with greater body weight, higher mattresses, with a greater degree of hardness (above H3);
• for people with posture defects, models made of the so-called intelligent materials with high flexibility, including thermoelastic foam, preferably profiled, and pocket-type mattresses – seven-zone with a reduced diameter of the springs.

We recommend

• models of mattresses with a summer and a winter side. The first one contains a layer of cotton, which works well at high temperatures, and a layer of natural wool on the other side of the mattress guarantees a feeling of warmth;
• placing the mattress on a suitable rack, preferably with appropriate adjustment. The advantage of adjustable frames is, among others the possibility of lifting the legs, which has a positive effect on their regeneration and improves blood circulation. Adjusting the hardness in the central part makes it possible to adjust it to the individual preferences of the user
• the use of an appropriate mattress overlay allowing for additional adjustment of the hardness to individual preferences
• using a sheet with anti-bacterial and odor-reducing properties
