A bed or a couch?

We spend almost of our lives in bed, so it is worth considering “what” we will spend this time on. First of all, two options come to mind: a folding sofa or a bed with a mattress.

Advantages of the couch
When choosing a couch, we are mainly guided by its “practicality”.
During the day, this piece of furniture acts as a place where we sit. In the evening, we can unfold it and go to sleep on it.
This solution seems to be attractive especially in small apartments or studios, where you have to fight for every free meter of space.

Couch disadvantages

All kinds of corner sofas, sofas and sofas are designed with sitting in mind. Consequently, they are too hard to properly support our body during sleep.

Another issue is hygiene itself. Throughout the day, we sit on the couch many times, our children and even our pets play on it. So it is not difficult to imagine how easily all kinds of dirt and bacteria accumulate on it, and then transfer it to our bedding.

Also, the very folding and unfolding of the bed becomes cumbersome over time. In addition, if we have foldable modules on wheels, the floor itself is also subject to wear.

Advantages of the bed

The beds, unlike folding sofas or sofas, are designed to ensure comfort while sleeping. Their construction is based on the connection of a frame with a mattress.
A huge selection of mattresses on the market (foam, pocket, bonnell) will make everyone find the right model for themselves. A well-chosen mattress will adapt to the shape of the body and ensure the correct positioning of the spine. In addition, a well-chosen frame will increase the comfort of using the mattress and extend its life.
The smarter ones will also use the free space under the bed by choosing a model with a drawer for storage.
If we have more space, we can choose a bed of any size. This is especially useful if we or our significant other have a tendency to “wander around the bed” while sleeping.

The disadvantages of the bed

Among the most frequently mentioned defects of the bed are:
– no possibility of folding, especially if someone has a small apartment or studio apartment.
– price (a bed with a solid frame and a comfortable mattress is much more expensive than when buying a sofa or couch).
To sum up
Each of us knows – accompanying throughout the day – the feeling of tiredness and lack of sleep after an uncomfortably spent night. Therefore, it is worth rethinking your decision if you decide to buy a sofa and consider whether the choice of a mattress will be better
